Am not a HouseCuddy person but this felt somehow as if it how things could play out with these two.

Noticed a few nits while reading and thought I'd mention them -

"But all it took was one phone with James ..." - maybe should be "phone call"

"Oh," she said. Lisa Cuddy's face pulled itself from her memory. Dark hair, dark eyes ..." - doesn't Cuddy have blue eyes?

She didn't remember the first time she'd met Dr. Cuddy met." - This doesn't quite make sense since you said earlier that they met at the time of the infarction.
