One of House's primary personality traits is his pride. The idea of slipping on ice would be horrific to him. I can totally believe he'd want Wilson to think he got hurt in a brawl.
The details are so right. I love this series (and there's no reason to assume House has had only 13 canes in a decade or so. You can do lots of them -- please!)
