And Wilson's no dimwit, so he has probably acquired a great deal of musical knowledge from House over the years.

I totally agree with you. I'd rather go learn something new for the sake of writing House, than dumb down his knowledge. That wide-ranging intelligence is so central to his character that if it goes away you're not really writing House anymore.
