On the other hand, Wilson's been House's friend for a minimum of seventeen years, according to canon (but don't get me started on the 17-year-old dog and the fact that if that's true, it means Wilson married his second wife at the age of twenty). And Wilson's no dimwit, so he has probably acquired a great deal of musical knowledge from House over the years.
I totally agree with you. I'd rather go learn something new for the sake of writing House, than dumb down his knowledge. That wide-ranging intelligence is so central to his character that if it goes away you're not really writing House anymore.
