The short story/long story on Robert Johnson: The legend says he was flirting with the woman of a jealous man, and was slipped a bottle of whiskey laced with strychnine.
Over on the HHoW board, Radiosweetheart had brought up references in music, Robert Johnson being an example, and so that was in my mind, and since Crandall wrote a biography on a jazz man I could see him haunting all these places. (And it was my contention during that discussion that while writing from House's POV, you shouldn't dumb down his knowledge, whether in terms of music or Schrodinger's cat. If it were a Wilson POV, he might have asked for an explanation of House's comment, if he'd heard it.)
