Definitely. It really comes across - or, at least, that was my take on it. But it's still recognisably him. The balance is just right.
I'd forgotten that part of DNR, but it makes sense. A lot of people, when they write about House's musical abilities, turn him into some kind of maestro - which is fine, if that's your interpretation, or if it's appropriate in the context, but this works better for me. I think music is a passion for him, but it was never more than an avocation, so the idea that he's some kind of musical genius doesn't really ring true.
