This is possibly my favorite chapter of this so far? The opening scene with House and his mom was great, in a quiet, day-in-the-life-of way, and then that confrontation with Crandall, where House stops and realizes that that conversation never happened was wonderful. Because dreams do that sometimes. And House's dreams certainly seem to, judging off the couple ones we've been shown in canon. And the way you portray the rift between House and Stacy at this point is perfect. Reminds me of some of what you covered in "Eight Days, Eight Months," not in a redundant way, just in a... cohesive way, if that makes sense. The basic timeline of events doesn't change, and the places (physical and emotional) that the characters are at doesn't either, from story to story, but the way you approach it and interweave different threads together does, and that makes it very interesting.
